The CIS Department is fortunate to have the support of the National Science Foundation for several
very important projects.
The NSF has supported us in developing a transfer agreement with the University of
Massachusetts, Dartmouth in Computer Science. Students from BCC take the equivalent to courses at
UMD while at BCC and transfer over as full juniors. As part of the transfer agreement, reduced
rates are available.
The NSF has supported us in the development of our Computer Forensics program. This new
degree option is a collaboration between the Computer Information Systems Department and the
Criminal Justice Department. It is also part of a partnership between four community colleges and
the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
The NSF has supported us in other ways to allow outreach projects as well as efforts
in supporting students. These efforts are supported by resources from BATEC and CAITE.
